The main activity of this department is the training, education and assessment of drivers. The aim of this department is to achieve as effective use of the means of transport as possible. For this purpose we use the best means for monitoring the work with vehicles. The transport companies of Muška Group employ currently about 300 drivers. All the drivers take initial psychological tests, medical examinations and regular specialist training with the participation of the representatives of the companies producing the vehicles. By means of adequate personal work with the individual drivers we are able to achieve their maximal reliability and therefore also a minimal accident frequency, we are also able to reduce the cost of fuel and repairs and last but not least we are able to achieve a low job-switching frequency. All these aspects are then positively reflected into the services, which we offer to the individual clients. Next to this main activity masterdriver functions also as an advisor for our transport companies in case of transporting dangerous cargoes.

A satellite monitoring system, which enables us to supervise completely the operation of the vehicle, equips the majority of the vehicles within CTR group. The satellite monitoring system also enables us to monitor the individual vehicles almost on-line and also backwards, to monitor their parameters and the characteristics of their activities - it means their locality with an accuracy to several metres, the immediate and the average speed, the fuel consumption of the vehicle, the activity of the additional appliances (the compressor in case of the cisterns and the hydraulics in case of the tippers and special sets) and the condition of the vehicle during driving. The main part of the IT/IS specialist's work is the implementation and the correct functioning of this system in all our transport companies. The information provided by the satellite system is used by both the employees of the individual transport companies and also by other employees of the central section. The satellite monitoring of the vehicles is used especially for the purpose of achieving an optimal use of the vehicles, for supervising the realization of the individual orders and for assessing the work of the individual drivers.

The main aim of this department of the central section is an effort to use the individual means of transport in a maximal way. With this view the department guides methodically the individual dispatching and logistic centres of the subsidiary transport companies. To achieve an optimal use of the vehicles the department uses the information and the ideas from the other departments of the central transport, particularly from the satellite monitoring of the vehicles. Thanks to the maximal use of the vehicles it is possible especially to reduce the fixed cost and consequently to reach a lower price for the transport towards the client. The maximal use of the individual vehicles is also connected with the coordination of the transports within Muška Group, transfers of the vehicles among the individual companies, creation of an internal database of the transports and the transporters and last but not least new acquisitions on the market of transports. The transport management also provides transports above the scope of the individual transport companies.

The transport companies of Muška Group have currently at their disposal about 200 means of transport. The main activity of the technical manager is realizing all the new investments concerning the fleet of vehicles, its renewal, and purchase of the spare parts, tyres, repairs and sales of vehicles. This department constantly monitors the market with the means of transport, compares the individual competitive offers of the producers and the parameters of the vehicles and on the basis of the found information it provides recommendations regarding the new investments. It coordinates the repairs and the purchases of the individual spare parts for the transport companies with the aim to achieve the synergic effects and lower cost. It guides methodically all the technical management of the subsidiary companies and it coordinates their activities.

Since 2001 a unified controlling and reporting has been implemented into all the companies. Controlling acquires the individual reports and analyses concerning the activities of the transport companies from a unified information system, which is closely specialized for the area of transport. Thanks to that the competent employees of the transport companies and of the central section get detailed information about the operation of the individual vehicles in regular weekly and monthly reports and accounts. These reports are constantly compared with the short-term and the long-term plans prepared by controlling on the basis of the data provided by the companies. Irregularities are always analysed and taken into consideration with regard to the activity in the next period and with a view of achieving the most effective operation of the carrier companies. The controlling department also guides methodically the individual accountants within the transport companies and works out the calculations of the individual investments. Pavel Kříž
